Percipio depicts a visual metaphor for the wonder we overlook in our everyday lives. The work argues that there is more to be discovered if we take a step back, look at things from another perspective or under a different light. It represents an an opportunity to reflect on what is presented in front of us and look beyond the surface.
Percipio allows visual language a physical presence and sets it in motion – discordant things are brought together, the irrational becomes rational and disorder is ordered, but only momentarily. Wonder and delight is created when our expectations are confounded and tension between what we see as whole and what we see as disassembled speaks to our curiosity.
